Talents
I genuinely believe that every person has talents and abilities to live the life he or she desires.
However, people often struggle to achieve this because they experience blockages.
Change in thinking and action is the key. The only way is the way forward.
The approach of a coach differs from that of a therapist.
A therapist analyses your current state. After thorough assessment, he or she makes a diagnosis and sets up a treatment plan.
The therapist looks for causes of your issue in the past and works until the problem is resolved, focusing on solutions. He or she works on your emotional processing.
A coach, on the other hand, works creatively, constructively, and with appreciation.
He or she helps you formulate sustainable goals across different domains.
‘What are you going to do with your challenge?’ ‘Who do you want to be in your (new) context?’ — these questions take centre stage.
The coach helps to unblock, and together with you explores how to move forward —
constructively toward the future, using insights and material from the past.
Unlike therapy, coaching also builds on your social positioning.
The coach supports you in looking at yourself with appreciation, by realising personal projects.
Targets
I guide a coachee in reaching specific goals through targeted questioning: facilitating a growth process while remaining results-oriented.
Insight
I don’t give advice, but ask specific questions so the coachee gains insight into their own thinking and actions: leading to expanded awareness.
Genuine
I guide the coachee through that growth process with genuine engagement, and I confront when necessary to help the coachee reach a higher level of awareness.
Self-leadership
I promote the self-direction and personal responsibility of the coachee.
Discretion
I value an open-minded, confidential, and warm approach in everything I do
Respect
At OB Coaching & Consulting CommV, mutual respect is an essential foundational value.
